National Day Message 2024

Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

On behalf of the Board, Management, and the entire team at Hope Initiative Alliance, I would like to extend our warmest wishes for a Happy 59th National Day.

As we celebrate this special day, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our donors, partners, and volunteers for their unwavering support of our charitable endeavours in Singapore since our inception in 2018.

At the core of HIA’s mission is a commitment to fostering a caring and cohesive Singapore. We strive to achieve this through three guiding principles: promoting interfaith charity, championing community volunteerism, and encouraging corporate social responsibility.

These values are deeply inspired by Singapore’s ethos of unity in diversity and our collective commitment to the common good. As a nation built on the foundation of multiculturalism and mutual respect, Singapore has long celebrated the coming together of different communities, cultures, and faiths to build a harmonious society.

Our focus on interfaith charity reflects the Singaporean spirit of inclusivity, where people of all backgrounds are encouraged to extend a helping hand, transcending religious and cultural boundaries. Championing community volunteerism echoes the kampong spirit—a tradition of neighborly support and collective responsibility that has been a cornerstone of Singapore's social fabric. Additionally, our emphasis on corporate social responsibility draws from Singapore’s belief in sustainable development and the importance of giving back to society, ensuring that progress is shared and benefits all.

At HIA, we are proud to uphold these values, which not only align with our mission but also resonate with the principles that have shaped Singapore’s identity. By working together for the common good, we contribute to a stronger, more cohesive nation, where every act of kindness helps to build a better future for all Singaporeans.

Taking our mission forward, we have launched the Singapore for Common Good fundraising initiative leading up to Singapore’s 60th year of nationhood in 2025, dedicated to advocating for a more cohesive and caring society. All donations raised will support Hope Initiative Alliance in performing charitable services, benefiting migrant workers living in dormitories, migrant domestic workers supporting households, families and children living in rental housing, vulnerable individuals in the community, and homeless individuals.

By supporting this fundraising initiative, you empower HIA, our partners, and volunteers to work collectively towards a Singapore where every individual is valued, and societal harmony is strengthened.

I humbly call on you to join us in building a community where compassion and unity prevail and contribute to a legacy of the common good for generations to come as we celebrate 59 years of nation-building.

We thank you for being us – Together for a Caring Singapore.
